Lab management software for clinics in Nepal
Order tests, enter results with auto-flagged abnormals, and release reports patients can look up online.
A clinic lab lives or dies on turnaround and accuracy. If ordering a test means a handwritten requisition, and a result means a slip that gets stapled into a file days later, the doctor is working blind and the patient is waiting for a phone call that may not come. D. Clinic runs the lab inside the same system as the consulting room, so a test goes from ordered to reported without leaving the record.
Ordering a test
The doctor — or a receptionist billing on their behalf — orders tests straight from the visit. The order is priced in NPR, added to the same invoice as the consultation, and appears in the lab's work queue immediately. Common tests are grouped into panels (CBC, Lipid Profile, LFT, KFT, TFT and more), so reception bills "CBC" once while the lab still records each parameter separately.
Entering results with abnormals flagged
Each parameter has its own reference range — scoped by sex and age where it matters, with critical low/high thresholds for panic-value tests like potassium, sodium, haemoglobin and glucose. As the lab technician enters a result, D. Clinic compares it against the right range and flags it automatically as low, high or critical. Nothing relies on someone remembering the normal value for a 6-year-old versus an adult.
When every parameter in an order is entered, the order completes on its own and the report is ready to release.
Getting the report to the patient and the doctor
- Back to the doctor — results attach to the visit, so the doctor sees them in the patient record the moment they are ready, alongside past results for comparison.
- To the patient — an SMS tells the patient their report is ready. They can then look it up online with their receipt number and phone, or collect a printed copy with your clinic's letterhead.
- Sequential receipts — lab receipts are numbered LB-YYYY-NNNNN so billing reconciles cleanly.
A catalogue you do not have to build from scratch
D. Clinic ships with a common-test catalogue — dozens of individual parameters, each with its
department, sample type, container, unit and structured reference ranges, plus the standard panels.
You can run lab:seed-common-tests to load it, then adjust prices and add your own tests. Anything
a technician has already customised is never overwritten.
Roles for the lab bench
A lab technician role gives your lab staff the order queue, result entry, the test catalogue and report release — and nothing else. Reception can create and bill lab orders without touching result entry, which keeps the billing desk and the bench cleanly separated.
One system, one visit
The lab module is part of the D. Clinic plan. A patient can see the doctor, have blood drawn, collect medicine from the pharmacy and pay once — because ordering, results, billing and the record are the same system, not four that have to be kept in step.
